Mediation Program

The City Attorney's Office mediates nonviolent cases in which a misdemeanor crime has been alleged prior to filing criminal charges. Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process in which parties meet with a neutral third party mediator to discuss their issues.

The mediator does not act as an attorney or judge and will not resolve your issues for you. The role of the mediator is to facilitate discussion directed at resolving the issues between the parties.

If you are not sure if your dispute/issues is appropriate for mediation or you wish to participate in the mediation process, please call 614-645-8815 to discuss the process.

A representative from the Intake Section will answer your questions and/or assist you in scheduling a mediation hearing.

You may also contact the Jennifer Reid, Director of the Prosecution Resources Unit at 614-645-7749 or [email protected].
